le monde s'était arrêté

nous avions retenu notre souffle
alors que le monde respirait mieux
nous y sommes depuis des mois
et cela semble tellement irréel
mais là vous étiez
sur la ligne de front
plus ou moins patients
plus ou moins inquiets
mais toujours courageux
assez courageux
pour toujours y retourner
jour après jour
une semaine après une autre
loin de vos familles
risquant vos vies pour les nôtres
nos vies ont changé
vous avez rendu ce changement plus sécuritaire
vous avez rendu ce changement plus supportable
comment honorer votre courage, votre sacrifice
et tous ceux qui ont été perdus
si ce n'est en changeant encore plus ?

notre façon d'interagir
notre façon de vivre
notre façon de nous soucier...

in a common effort
to save each other
the beauty of that gesture
its irony
staying away from one another
to face a common threat together
all were waiting
at home
alone or with loved ones
spending more time than ever before
with people they thought they knew
all were waiting
for the crisis to end
the world had stopped
for months
we had been holding our breath
while the world was breathing better
we've been at it for so long
and it's been unreal
but there you were
on the front line
more or less patient
more or less worried
but always brave
brave enough
to always go back
day after day
a week after another
away from your families
risking your lives for ours
our lives changed
you made that change safer
you made that change more bearable
how can we honor your bravery, your sacrifice
and all those who were lost
if not by changing even more?
the way we work
the way we consume
the way we interact
the way we live
the way we care...
